It's the end of the year and a time for reflection. 2019 has been one of the most monumental years in my life. Two years ago, I decided I was going all in with music. It was a decision that has completely reshaped me as a person. I cannot begin to express the blood, sweat, and tears that I have put into this project. Long days, longer nights, and all too often I found myself at the studio when I should have been with friends. So many of you have pushed me to keep going, thank you for understanding my absence while I pursue my passion. As we move into the new year I have a few announcements.
1. My album is in the final stages of completion, I just have to finish mixing and mastering.
2. The next single will be released on January 20th, called North Star.
3. I'm officially going to be going on tour in 2020! I'll announce dates later on, but I'm very excited. Be sure to reach out and let me know where you'd like to see me play!
This month was insane to say the least. I released "I feel it too", which is about breaking out of your shell and following what you love. I've been working at a desk job while I make these songs. I'll basically work a 9-5 and then work on music from 5-30-11, then head home to sleep for a bit and start it all over the next day. Some days can be tough, but nothing makes me happier than working on music. This same month, the job I worked at laid off 5% of their workforce. I had so many friends lose their jobs, they were devastated. Its a truly terrible thing, when you give so much of yourself to your work, to have it all crumble away. On a lighter note, I keep hearing people bumping the songs. Thanks for everyone who continues to support this crazy adventure of mine.
It's finally here, I pushed the submit button and my first song "A Girl Like You" is officially in the pre-release stage due to drop on July 28. I got goosebumps seeing the confirmation email from Sony, it was definitely a moment that I doubt I will ever forget. I've spent so many long days and nights on these songs, seeing the first one finally being available was a huge moment of pride. What's even more awesome is all the great feedback i'm getting. I've started submitting the song to several blogs and they've already started to get back to me with positive feedback and featured slots set for after the release day. Getting here has not been easy. I've had so many sleepless nights and days so busy I felt like my heart was going to explode. I pushed myself to be better, to be true to who I am and realize that I am not perfect. We live in a society where we are constantly comparing ourselves to other people. Its too easy to see someone else and ask why can't I have a life more like them. The truth is that all of us have some really amazing qualities about us and we have people in our lives who really care about us and wouldn't want us to be anyone else. Follow your passion, be yourself.
Ps. If you want to help me on my music journey, please sign up for the pre-release. itunes is the best way to support (150 streams = 1 download), but pre-saving on Spotify and Apple music really helps bump me up in the algorithm for the release week. Signing up for my newsletter on my homepage is also a great way to get new updates on what i'm doing.
These past few years have been crazy, I've been going through a ton of changes. I finished my enlistment in the marine corps and threw myself into music. I grew up playing and writing songs on the guitar and I decided a while ago that I wanted to try and expand myself and how I write music. Although guitar has still been an integral part of many of my songs, I started exploring and pushing my songs in new directions. I wanted to create a blend of analog and digital, to have great riffs and huge synths, and most importantly write a great song behind that soundscape. I've loved pushing my boundaries and I am really excited to share what I've been working on with you.
I've finished a 4 song EP and I am currently making the last tweaks on the mix. Right now I have put a band together and we are getting ready to play our first show, most likely in the fall after the full EP has been released. I've found some extremely talented players and the shows are going to be FUN. Overall, things are shaping up really well.
More to follow, lets do this.
